(Los Angeles, Calif.) Tues., May 3, 2011 – Seven-time Dove award winner and two-time Grammy nominated vocalist Nicole C. Mullen released her new worship album Captivated today, May 3, 2011 through Maranatha Music (format CD and deluxe edition CD with extended songs & videos). Nicole’s new 6-session small group curriculum on DVD from Isaiah 61 in the Inspiring Women series, entitled “Captivated By Prayer,” released today as well. In this new curriculum, Nicole shares life-enriching wisdom, scriptural concepts and practical tips on how to pray and explores how Jesus used the Lord’s Prayer to teach believers how to pray.

From her early days as a background vocalist/dancer/choreographer to writing and recording such classic hits as “Redeemer” to mentoring young women through her Baby Girls Club, Nicole’s creativity and compassion have fueled a life of ministry that has had global impact.

Her first studio album in three years, Captivated delivers a personal and profound message that is not only a watermark album for Nicole; but one for our entire generation. Featuring unforgettable songs, crafted with rare insight and sensitivity into the journey of faith, Nicole’s artistry is inspiring.

“Maranatha! Music is honored to partner with Nicole and do our part in taking her music and ministry worldwide,” Randy Alward, president of Maranatha! Music said. “Her passion for God and ability to communicate the things of Christ in all she does is a wonderful fit with our heart to connect the song of faith with today’s church.”

Captivated features a who’s who of some of Christian music’s most talented musicians and singers including Chris Rodriguez, Dan Needham, Michael O’Brien, Papa San and The Katinas. Nicole’s husband and long-time music collaborator, David Mullen, not only co-wrote with Nicole on a few songs for the project, but was instrumental in introducing her first-time producing partner, Ed Cash to her. “Ed has stretched me in many ways. His approach to things has broadened my creativity, making me go beyond what I thought I could do,” Mullen says.

Captivated is filled with songs that celebrate God’s majesty such as the powerful first single “Kingdom Come” (released to AC radio on Feb. 11th). The album mix features a duet with longtime friend Michael O’Brien. “Every other day there is a tornado or an earthquake or a tsunami or oil spill or whatever it is,” says Nicole. “Even nature is crying out for the return of Christ, for His kingdom.”

Other standout tracks include “I Need You (As the Deer),” "Forgive," "Lead Me" and Nicole’s take on the beloved Andrae Crouch classic “My Tribute” with “Redeemer” medley.

“Kingdom Come” was the first single off Nicole’s full-length album to be released digitally to iTunes on March 22, 2011. An inspirational song of hope, the video for the single is already garnering mass appeal through YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KwXtVnsMgg.

In addition to her iTunes single, the free Official Nicole C. Mullen iPhone app was also recently released. A must-have for Nicole’s fans and concert-goers, the rich features and unique content in this app include: browse photos, find out about upcoming concerts, engage with fans across Facebook and iLike, post concert photos directly from an iPhone to the fan community and get regular bulletin updates.

Nicole is known internationally for her inspirational words and breathtaking voice. Leading up to her CD release in May, She will travel throughout the United States and then spend time in Zimbabwe, Africa ministering to the local people. Nicole is thrilled to share this new season of worship music with the lost and lonely.

“My mom told me a long time ago ‘when you sing, never sing to the people, always sing to the audience of one and invite the people to worship along with you,’” Nicole says, “and so that’s my new aim these day is to sing to the ‘Audience of One’ and hopefully it becomes so contagious and the melody becomes so soothing and so inviting that people will want to sing along.”

A personal passion for years, Nicole spends time working with the Baby Girls Club, a non-profit dedicated to affirming and celebrating each girl’s worth and helping them to make a healthy contribution to their community. The group of 6-17 year old girls comes together to study, sing, and dance, sew, talk, laugh, create and dream. Her other organization, Team NCM, recruits talented youth to perform on stage with Nicole.

Her compassion and unmistakable talent is reflected in Nicole’s numerous global tours, seven Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, including two Female Vocalist of the Year honors, Song of the Year (“Redeemer” and “On My Knees”), Songwriter of the Year, Contemporary Song of the Year and the 2005 Urban Album of the Year for “Everyday People.” Nicole is the only African-American who has won the prestigious Song of the Year award at the Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards in the US (Gospel music's equivalent of the Grammy Awards) twice. In addition to her Dove accolades, Nicole has also been nominated for two Grammy Awards. On November 5, 2011, she will be inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame alongside six other Christian music artists.

Throughout her career, Nicole has traveled with the Billy Graham Crusades, Franklin Graham, Will Graham, Luis Palau and Women of Faith and has sung around the world on prestigious stages including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall.

To coincide with the release of Captivated, Nicole is currently on a nationwide promo tour visiting cities such as Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta in support of her new release.
